With the school term coming to an end, how about keeping children active over the holidays? Studies show that most children lose a large percentage of body activity levels during the holidays compared to the school term. 80% of boys and 85% of girls often appear more lethargic during the holidays. This is due to slacking caused by technological invasion and change in lifestyle. Phones, video games and television sets contribute largely to this sedentary lifestyle that may extend to the next school term.
Holiday Sports Camps such as those offered be us, Swim Africa, help in keeping the children active. The camp has an array of activities including swimming, soccer, tennis, cycling, horse riding, golf, go- karting and basketball among many other sporting events that ensure the children remain active throughout the holidays. The various activities offered at Swim Africa by our well-trained staff emphasize on building confidence and strength, improving agility and coordination and developing coordination while having fun.
Swim Africa’s sports camps are currently available at both the Langata and Westlands branches. Half and full-day options are available. Lunch is also served at an additional fee. Purchases made of four or three weeks at Westlands and Langata respectively are discounted. To contact either branches directly, call 0729- 201 544 for Westlands and 0790- 143 951 for Langata.
